Term One 2025 Virtue Awards

Our Term One Virtue Awards were announced in assembly this week. These awards are acknowledging our ākonga who are demostrating one of the cardinal values: Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, or Temperance, or the theological virtues of: Hope, Love, or Faith. Congratulations to the following students:

Prudence: consistently making good choices


Colbran, Zaria

For being so enthusiastic and eager in all CDN classes.


Laga'aia, Manoka
Manoka always shows good judgment and makes thoughtful decisions, setting a great example for her classmates. She's consistently committed to making the right choices, showing real maturity and integrity.

McFadden, Caitlin
Caitlin is earnest and enthusiastic in English, always contributing in class discussion and completing her work with complete commitment. She is a role model for all her peers and encourages them to make good choices.

Vargas, Zachary
Zachary has shown a positive shift in behavior this year demonstrating the values of our kaiārahi.

Bain, Lily
Lily is quiet, but deeply engaged in English. She is attentive to instructions and completes all work thoroughly. She is courteous to her peers, contributing to a positive learning environment.

McRae, Emma
Emma is thoughtful and takes time to consider the implications of her actions for herself and others. In class, she takes her time with her work to ensure she understands what needs to be done; she will also ask for help or clarification if she is unsure, seeking advice to make a good and wise decision.

Bal, Arjun
Arjun considers different options and possible consequences before making decisions.

Barillas, Jamie
For being attentive and giving her best in every lesson.

Maihi, Paikea
She consistently choses to engage in her learning and is an excellent role model to others.

Thomson, Hayley
Hayley almost makes positive choices, whether it is in the classroom or in her role as house captain. Her prudent decision making means she is an excellent role model for other students.

Wilson, Pippa
Pippa consistently demonstrates personal and social responsibility at the highest level. This has a positive impact on her peers and their learning experience.

Ofori-Anynam,Emmanuella
Emmanuella consistently makes great choices to support her learning.



FORTITUDE: demonstrating resilience and courage



Tildesley, James
For a wonderful start to high school life, and embracing challenge.  For having the courage to ask questions when he is unsure.

Derejian, Thomas
Thomas has shown remarkable courage this term as he has adjusted to attending a new school. Despite his vision impairment, he has embraced this challenge with great dignity and has maintained his wonderful sense of humour throughout the experience.

Quill, Amelia
For showing courage and resilience, embracing challenges in Digital Technologies with quiet strength, maturity, and a positive, hardworking attitude.

Scott, Taylor
For never giving up when she faces challenges, and always looking out for others before her own needs.

McFadden, Caitlin
For consistently pushing herself to do better and participating to the full and putting herself forward with courage.

Speedy, Samuel
For showing outstanding courage in doing his best in science.

Allan, Joslyn
For having the courage to rise to the challenge of co-choreographing a musical item for the cast in the school production.

For having the courage to rise to the challenge of co-choreographing a musical item for the cast in the school production.

For amazing courage and fortitude in doing his best in science.

Matia, Amaria
Amaria is determined to achieve well in English. She is a wonderful example to others with her engagement and effort. She is courageous and resilient when presented with a challenge.

Calutan, Franco Lauren
Franco has worked very hard in class over the term. He perseveres even when the questions become difficult and is willing to try and try again until he gets it right. Franco has shown great resilience and courage in the class.

Bradley, Je T’aime
Volunteering to read and MC at masses and school house competitions. She has shown courage to step up this year be heard.



JUSTICE: being fair and just to all



Latu, Ava
Ava consistently acts with fairness, honesty and integrity. Her positive contributions ensure that everyone benefits.

McFadden, Caitlin
Caitlin is always willing to help others in music, demonstrating that she is willing capable of working alongside anyone in order to get them to play their instrument better.

Hartland, Lauren
Lauren is always striving to do the right thing both in and out of class. She believes in justice and everyone being treated fairly. She models justice by making positive choices at all times.

Lowther, Madison
Madison is always seeking to do the right thing, both in and out of class. She treats other people with respect and will work with others when she is completing group work, even if it is not her preferred choice. She is justice in how she treats all people with respect and care.

Madison's caring, empathetic nature is apparent in all her interactions with others, be it peers or staff. She is always conscious of doing the right thing and assisting those around her. Her light shines brightly!

Wynne, Sophie
Sophie has demonstrated personal and social responsibility to the highest level. She shows care and compassion to her classmates and supports them when they need help.



LOVE: demonstrating love for God and others



Soo Choon, Louis
For consistently showing compassion for other Akonga and helping them to achieve their own personal Magis.

Malele, Olivia
For her deep love for God and others, shown through her kindness, respect, willingness to help, and dedication to doing what is right.

Ibarra, Alyxia
Alyxia is always greeting people with a warm smile everyday. She consistently devotes herself to helping others or being kind to all.

Glynos, John
For his charity and kindness to others, and not expecting anything in return. True and genuine selflessness.

Wharfe, Neeve
For always bringing a smile and a positive attitude and helping others with kindness and enthusiasm.

Falanitule, Indiana
Indiana consistently shows love and patience for others. She is an outstanding leader who consistently includes all students in activities and inspires them to try their best.

Fitzpatrick, Olivia
For being devoted and joyful in her relationship with God, allowing her character to be shaped in virtue, and being passionate to share her faith with others so that they may learn more.

Clotworthy, Isla
Isla shows love by always being kind, thoughtful and patient. She is joyful and greets everyone with a smile.

Aspinall, Braiden
Always willing to help out with XB competitions and activities. Shows good leadership skills.

Koaneti, Elijah
Elijah is reverent and respectful in all he undertakes.



HOPE:  bringing light into the world

You are a joy to be around and you are an inspiration to us all.

Maddren, Emmalyn
Emmalyn everyday has shown great commitment to her work. She shows up with a great attitude and always makes the right decisions for herself. She helps others without being asked and at the end of every lesson without being told ensures that books in the room are left nice and tidy. Emmalyn brings light into the world and into her classes.

Michael, Valentino
Valentino consistently demonstrates Hope through his kindness and helpfulness. He always has a beautiful smile, is cheerful, and finds time for everyone.

Burford, Evony
Evony demonstrates a positive outlook. She is mindful of others and always displays gratitude. Evony shines her light brightly, inspiring others.

Perelini, Nagorry
Nagorry is positive and enthusiastic in all his interactions with others. He brings a wonderful energy to a space and truly lets his light shine.

For displaying Magis in all her classes and a positive attitude and kindness towards everyone.

For displaying Magis in all her classes and demonstrating hope through her kindness.

For consistently supporting others in a patient and kind manner during Maths.

Always showing enthusiasm and joy in the Environmental group. A real eco warrior who wants to make a difference.

For always having a positive attitude towards teachers and students, and always bringing joy into every circumstance.



FAITH: supporting Special Character

Emma was always helping and supporting her fellow students during the House competitions and activities this term.

For always being enthusiastic about faith-based initiatives happening in the school, and pouring herself out in service to others.

For actively participating in faith-based activities, and always being willing to say "yes" when asked to serve and lead in school (and Church) initiatives



TEMPERANCE: practicing self-control

Luken demonstrates a measured approach to all class activities, a respectful behaviour at all times.

Has been focusing on being ready and prepared to learn the clarinet, making good decisions by practicing and participating in the lessons.

Smith, Ashna
Ashna consistently demonstrates self-control and discipline, navigating challenges with a calm and measured approach. Her ability to remain composed and thoughtful in various situations is commendable.

Lautua, Albertus-Magnus
Emptying class recycling bins without asking.

Thomson, Stella
Stella demonstrates a balanced approach, enjoying fun activities when appropriate, while maintaining focus and showing temperance when the situation requires attention and self-control.

Hartland, Lauren
Lauren has demonstrated that she is able to navigate challenges by being resilient in many situations. She expresses herself with confidence and clarity, and is an asset to our school community.

Balle, Saskia
Saskia always demonstrates a calm, respectful manner. She is focussed and measured in all she does.

Barillas, Jamie
For having a plan as house arts captain, but also for being flexible and inclusive to incorporate the ideas of others. Sometimes things don't go to plan as a leader, but Jamie responded to changes with temperance.
